Officially Fiancée

Indeed. Life is so full of unpredictable beauty and strange surprises. Who would have thought?

A 21 year old average girl, who has plenty of responsibilities to uphold.

"Too young", they say.

But who would have known?

He wasn't my kind of guy and I even remembered clearly that I solemnly promised myself that I wouldn't want to be with someone like him. He was the total opposite of my dream man.

My life goal was direct and uncomplicated; be my own boss, single, buy a house for myself and live with two cats. Sounds achievable to me.

But what I have settled for was nothing near that.

Don't get me wrong because trust me, I wouldn't want to turn back the hands of time. In fact, I prefer to think of it as the better plan. He slowly became my best friend, my boyfriend, my fiancé and soon, my husband. Again, who would have thought? Things have changed drastically overtime. Now I'd gladly spend every second with him. He plays a big part in my life and he's extremely important and significant to me. Someone that I look up to as my role model that I greatly admire till today. See how life surprises me? It's overwhelming.

It is common to hear questions like:

"Don't you think you are too young to settle down?"
"Are you sure you are ready?"
"Are you really certain about your decision?"
"Don't you want to think through it again?"
"Don't you want to wait a little longer?"

Well, all I know is that, there isn't any age requirement to get engaged or married.

"It's only appropriate to get married at the age of 26 to 28 for female"

Says who?

Just because most people agree and share the same mindset that you should marry at a certain age, doesn't mean you have to follow the majority. I believe it's up to individual. After all, only you have the power to decide.

Not forgetting those who are judgemental, thinking that those who chose to settle down at a young age are unable to hold the marriage for a long period of time compared to the ones who chose to settle down at a later age. Really?

Married people might ask, "You don't know what marriage life is like."

Of course I don't and I'm not afraid to go through that.

Some people are concern that I have yet to live my life to the fullest, thinking that I have wasted my youth. To be honest, I really feel that I have a 28 year old soul trapped in a 21 year old body. I'm good with that. Probably when I was 14, I already did what a 21 year old abnormal teenager would do. I started really young and there's nothing to be proud of.

During Christmas last year, I got engaged to the most beautiful man on Earth and I couldn't be more happier to share the rest of my journey with him.

While I was dolling up, I felt quite anxious and nervous because I kept telling myself, "THIS IS IT". However, I never once told myself that my life is officially going to be over. I never looked at marriage as a trap or a prison. I am certain that my decision is going to be the best thing that ever happened to me, regardless whether it turns out like a fairytale or a nightmare (touch wood).

This may come as a shock to some but Sahil and I already planned for this day to happen. In May 2015, we decided to apply for a BTO 5-room flat in Tampines and alhamdulillah, we got the house that we wanted. It got us motivated to make things happen without a hitch.

Before I proceed to show you guys the beautiful photos, I would like to thank the following people for making the event a success!

So, how did he propose to me?

In Bali, on top of a cliff.
One knee down, with the ring facing him at first.
And slowly, he switched it to my direction.
"Will you marry me?"

He said something like,
"I remember that you told me the ideal place to propose would be somewhere high up. I did it."

More when I decided to blog about Bali!
